Hi All,

Yep we are up and running again. September was a hoot, jus ask Sophie (see below review – it is verbatim, totally edit free I promise!).

We are offering better value packages than ever this year and have extended our “Search” product from 5 to 7 days based on customer requests.

Look forward to getting your stoke on in 2011/2012!

Paul (Owner/Operator)

PS Here’s Sophie’s review…

Surf Camp Australia

Like allot of likeminded people I got to Australia for adventures and a new experience. But I also came here with a dream; to learn how to surf. I thought long and hard how I was to learn. Should I pay for a lesson on any beach and then buy a board and learn by myself or should I buy a board immediately and try to learn by watching others?

In the end I realized that my best shot of learning is to get help from people who actually know what they are doing or it will most likely be impossible for me to learn to surf. So I decided to go on a surf camp. I met a guy how had gone with Surf camp Australia a couple of months back and said that they were really great. So I took a chance and booked myself into the four day camp that they had. And it turned out to be my best decision so far.

When the bus finally turned up at the camp ground you could feel the excitement growing in the bus. And it became even more intense when we were met buy this guy who were so full of positivity and energy that you couldn’t help smiling when you heard him talk.

It was a fast introduction at the camp site and we got our rooms handed out. After that it was time to put wetsuits on and head down to the beach for the first lesson. We were soon in three different groups and our instructors started explaining what we needed to think about and how we were supposed to handle ourselves on the boards. And then we got to try! It was hard but not as impossible that I’d feared and I stood on my first wave before the end of the first lesson. What an adrenaline rush and I had the biggest smile on my face that I just couldn’t get rid of. I know that it is all thanks to my awesome coaches that I got the chance to stand up on my first wave within two hours after I arrived at the camp.

As the days progressed we got to learn something new at every lesson and we had two lessons every day so it was allot of information. I found that was a really good way of learning because it kept me sharp and I never felt like I got too much information at once. The groups were also quite small and that gave it a personal feeling. Everybody got help and attention from the coaches at every lesson and they knew what progressed each individual had made so we always got the right board and the best tips suited for us.

And now, five days later am I leaving the camp with a surfing fever. I’m hooked and I know that I’ll surf at every chance I’ll get from now on. Both here in Australia and when I go back home again. It is addictive! But it is also so much fun so what does it matter if I’m hooked for life now.

SO if you are sitting somewhere in Australia and dreaming about learning to surf. Go with Surf camp Australia- Aussies first surf camp and one of few that is actually run by surfers. I promise that you will not regret it. I know because it is the best thing I’ve done so far here in Australia. I had an amazing time with the most incredible team, new friends and a few good days of surfing!

And last but definitely not least, a huge thank you to the crew that helped making these four days a few of the best I’ve ever had. Thanks to: Cody, Jake, Chris, Gordy, Charlie, Hayden, Tom, Anna, Elin and Rachel.

Sophie Kling- a Surf Camp Australia participant Sep 2011
