Roll into Green Room!

Hey guys, this is Ramsey the new intern at surf camp.  Two weeks ago I participated in the Weekend Surf Camp trip and had a blast!  Let me describe my experience.  To begin, Friday evening we all gathered around Scubar to meet the bus, conveniently located minutes from central station.  After a short bus ride, we arrived at camp in the middle of the iconic Seven Mile Beach.  The following morning we had a substantial breakfast suited for a full day of surfing.  Then it was time to suit up and head off to the beach.  The well-trained instructors then lead us in a warm up stretch, followed by a quick fundamentals session catered towards absolute beginners.  After the instructions we hit the waves, being coached the entire time.  After an amazing two or session it was lunchtime.  During our lunch Chriso, the surf camp photographer, posted all our pics for both entertainment but more importantly a learning tool.  It is amazing to see what you are doing right/wrong in these pics and how to learn from your mistakes.  Then it was time for the second sesh!  During the final surf of the day almost everybody was up on there feet riding some waves.  The evening was as followed, dinner then off to the local pub.  We had a few brews and laughs but ultimately it was a relaxed evening.   Everyone was soo stoked for the next day of surf.  The following day many started riding some epic green waves and riding them down the beach.  During the second session the instructors jumped on their boards and had a surf with everyone in a relaxed yet still guided experience.  It was definitely a struggle to get me back on the bus to go back to Sydney, yet it had to be done.  What helped was the free pizza and beer waiting for me at scubar! Here we had a farewell party, reminiscing on some good times and great waves.

The best part of Surf Camp is that the instructors will give you the necessary tools and instructions to continue surfing.  They will describe the proper equipment one needs to purchase, surfing etiquette, and the types of waves best suited for your personal abilities.  Besides this you will meet some great people from all demographics and have one hell of an amazing weekend!
